Even more
abundant and varied than the wildlife of Quepos is the melange
of restaurants and bars in this once-sleepy, but now wide-awake,
Central Pacific port town.
Oven-fired
pizza, grilled or blackened snook, Tex-Mex, saucy French fare
- you'll find it all in the Quepos and Manuel Antonio region.
And there's at least one bar on every block downtown, which
makes Quepos one of the world's most convenient locations
for a pub crawl!
Café
Milagro, with locations in downtown Quepos and another on
the road to Manuel Antonio, is a coffee lover's dream come
true - and a perfect place to wake up in the morning. The
café, which sells espresso, organic and decaffeinated coffee,
is home to the "bottomless coffee cup", with unlimited
free refills, and the "mono loco", a high-octane
chocolate-banana shake with double espresso.
El
Banco Restaurant & Sports Bar in Quepos have an amazing
selection of delicious appetizers, sandwiches, salads, sides,
desserts and drinks.
Dos
Locos Restaurant is a meeting place for foreigners and locals
alike, serves Mexican and other specialities, will cook your
fresh catch, and has fabulous margaritas. Catch
Lance's harmonica Wednesday & Friday nights.
El
Gran Escape, also known as the "Fish Head Bar & Grill",
has an elegant, wharf-like atmosphere, superior seafood and
Mexican specialities.
For
a tangy appetizer, start with all the sushi you can eat in
Tropical Sushi, located around the corner from The Grand Escape.
El
Barco Bar & Grill located across the parking lot from
central market offer cocktails, wine, cold beer, grilled ribs,
chicken, kebobs & more. Pizza Gabriels on the first floor
has burritos, quesadillas, nachos, hamburguers and seafood.
If you've
caught your own fish for dinner, several places downtown will
cook your catch, including the Grand Escape, the Banco Bar
and Dos Locos. So will most of the hotel restaurants.
You can
beat the heat down on main street, Wacky
Wandas Bar Central, the only air conditioned bar in downtown
Quepos, located across from Hotel Kamuk.
Monchados
Restaurant, it is owned by to local CR guys. The food is more
than great, prices are cheap. Happy hour everyday, they have
mexican, caribbean and seafood too.
Some of
the tastiest wood-baked pizza in the country is fired up in
Quepos.
Gastronomía
L'Angulo, an Italian place next to Dos Locos, offers a variety
of styles, also serves fresh herb-covered sandwiches, pizza,
pasta, espresso, fresh juices, sells meats, cheeses, olives,
pesto, wines, other imported foods and delicacies. Next to
the fire station a few blocks away.
Pizza and
Spaghetti Escalofrio has the authentic Italian wood fired
stone oven pizza & fresh pasta dishes, international wines,
beers, cocktails and 100% natural italian ice cream made fresh
in Quepos.
Atop
the Hotel Kamuk in Quepos, you can get Continental meals while
enjoying the piano bar and fresh ocean breeze.
