Quepos & Manuel Antonio
Spices
Tour Manuel Antonio
Rainforest
agricultural experience, BETTER THAN THE COFFEE TOUR.
This
Farm is located in the Central Pacific rainforest 10 miles
east of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. The farm
is a tropical laboratory for sustainable agriculture and includes
27 acres of agriculture and includes 27 acres of agriculture
production and 125 acres of primary and secondary rainforest.
Cash crops include our major spice - vanilla, plus cinnamon,
black pepper, allspice and a variety of exotic fruits, essential
oil and medicinal plants.
Vanilla
beans, extract, cinnamon, pepper, all spice and other spices
are available at our new "Spice Shoppe & Virtual
Tour Centre".
Vanilla
(the farm's major crop) is the most popular flavor in the
world! It is also the second most expensive flavoring agent
and the reason for its high cost is the labor-intensive nature
of vanilla cultivation and processing. "Vanilla is native
to Mexico and Central America and this vanilla is considered
by many to be the best vanilla on the planet".

The
agricultural tour, about 1 1/2 hours is where you experience
the sights and aromas of vanilla, tropical spices, essential
oil plants, sustainable practices such as; composting, mulching,
animal husbandry, permaculture, spice drying and our unique
aerated compost tea system disease prevention and plant nutrition.
Spice treats and a spice pack are included free with the tour.
Biodynamic
farming practices are of a holistic nature and; rely on recycling
on farm inputs work with the soil energies and atmospheric
forces, strengthen the immunity processes of the plant and
soil and stumulate the digestive processes of the soil using
medicinal plant preparations.
