A fantastico tour!

We booked ahead of time and they were prompt with replies, and very thorough with instructions where to meet and park. We meet our guide Chris and he was awesome, shared a lot of information and was able to spot lots of wildlife! An amazing experience for our honeymoon!

We had a great tour with Beatriz. It was impressive how much she was able to tell us about the flora and fauna. we learned a lot. Be sure to book a tour with Beatriz.

Andrés was extremely knowledgable about the plant and wildlife in the park, and excellent at spotting animals. He was patient and engaging with our mixed-age group including our 2 kids ages 7 and 9. I highly recommend this tour! My only complaint is with the transportation company (arranged but not run by the tour company) — we were given a 7:15am pickup time and the driver arrived at 6:55am claiming he had many other people to pick up and would not wait for us. Our hotel breakfast didn’t start until 7:00am and we were not ready as he was 20 minutes early, and he repeatedly threatened to leave without us. Ultimately we ate breakfast in 5 minutes and departed at 7:05am but it was a sour start to an otherwise fabulous experience.

We have had a wonderful tour- friendly, with different nationalities (from Europe), which is always fun to share our universality and (small) differences. But the main highlight was one guide Dayana, a passionate lady with great knowledge and energy. Tours are weird as you spend a nice time with nice people for 3 hours and all of a sudden it is goodbye. Enjoy your time with Dayana!

Very knowledgeable tour guide, wide variety of animals and plants to see and learn about! Ends at the beach which is great. Well worth the price.

Our guide Beatriz was beyond incredible. She expertly timed our morning hike to help us see the right animals at the right time. We saw amazing sights – a mama and new baby sloth was the highlight! Beatriz submit that photo girl! And we learned so much about the rainforest and CR history.

Fair warning, no plastic water bottles allowed inside the park, only reusable water bottles. No food of any kind due to monkeys. There’s a small cafe at the end of the hike.

Andres was our tour guide, he was very sincere and had a keen eye for spotting the fauna here. He helped us spot both 2-toed & 3-toed sloths, monkeys, crabs, stick bird, spiders, even a boa constrictor trying to cross the trail! His communication was clear. The arrangements at MA Park were good, there were drinking taps sprinkled through out the park, directions were good.

We saw so many animals we wouldn’t normally have seen. I know for a fact I would’ve walked right thru that forest and thought all they had was crabs on the floor. Beatriz was funny, educational, and made the visit.

We took the guided tour with Esteban and he was great. His ability to find animals in the forest was amazing and he provided lots of information about the animals and the forest in general. Highly recommend this guided tour!

Today was our last full day in Costa Rica and we started the day with a guided tour. Our guide, Esteban, was awesome. He not only spotted so many animals that we would have just walked by, but he took the time to give us tons of information about the animals and plants we were seeing. Highly recommend the guided tour if you want to actually see what is living in the park!

We had Frank as our tour guide and he had such a keen eye for his surroundings he was able to spot animals even other tour guides couldn’t!

I definitely recommend a tour guide for this experience.

I have to say the tour saved so much hassle: I drove a car from San Jose, I was able to meet the tour guide directly a distance outside the park and then navigate the somewhat confusing and irritating entrance to get to the main parking lot (the roads are filled with many many people trying to get you to pay to park with them, we just drove through (not over) them all. Then we were able to get in the park for a guided tour, where our pleasant guide Dagoberto found all the things that we would have never found ourselves, giving us the context for how common/rare each thing was (we saw a little of each). The guide was Christian and started with a prayer and thanks to Jesus which pleased the other Christians in our group, he helped us appreciate the beauty and miracle of nature. The only negatives cannot be helped and do not reflect the tour: too many people at the entrance/first part of the park, too much commercialism, general slow pace of getting a group of humans together and moving along, it was a pura vida low stress moment. We finished at 2:37 and I had 15 minutes at the beach before wandering a little more alone and leaving the park at closing time.

We had a fantastic day with our guide Esteban. Even before the tour he showed us some macaws outside the park.

During the tour we saw numerous sloths, and Esteban was always helpfull with filming them and providing info.

Hopefully you get an amazing guide like ours. Other guides were asking him things. He was extremely passionate and incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and the park itself. It was very hot and humid that day so bring lots of water!

Andres was our tour guide and he was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in the park and was so excited to share his passion about the wildlife with us! He took his time to make sure that we all saw lots of animals including white faced cappuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, 2 and 3 fingered sloths, tiger rat snake and a boa! Very memorable tour!

We had a lovely tour with our guide Frank. He had such a keen eye and helped take many great photos and videos for us. He was SO knowledgeable about the biodiversity of the rainforest. We loved the tour! Our kids especially loved seeing sloths, monkeys, a boa, and spiders. Thanks for a great tour!

Our guide Esteban was great with detailed descriptions of all of the animals/birds and fauna the park had to offer. The views and the Manuel Antonio beach were spectacular. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

We took a guided tour with Frank. He was fantastic! He has an incredible eye for spotting wildlife and knew just where to look. He positioned his scope for everyone in our group to get the best views. We saw a ton of wildlife, including a boa constrictor! It was the coolest thing I saw in Costa Rica. Highly recommend taking a guided walk so that you can maximize what you can see. I wouldn’t have been able to see as much on my own. The park is very clean so be sure to help keep it that way when you visit! And the Manuel Antonio beach is stunning!

I was unsure if this would be worth it, to be honest. Beatriz changed my mind in a hurry! She knew so much interesting history, biology, and animal facts, even our kids thought it was more than they learn in a full school day. She also helped us find (and take stunning photos of) 2- and 3-finger sloths, agutí, motmot and stick birds, capuchin and squirrel monkeys, Jesus Christ Basilisk and other lizards, a small venomous snake, white-tailed deer. The beach after was our favorite in the country. It was the best part of my vacation!

We visited other parks in Costa Rica but only here saw both types of sloths, 3 types of monkeys and ending with the glorious beach. Our guide Frank was very knowledgeable, quick to spot the animals otherwise might have passed, giving us information at all times and providing high quality photos and videos through airdrop at the end of the tour. It’s so worth it!! Thank you!!

Dayana was our tourguide today and she was great. Answered all of our questions, showed us a lot of animals and gave her best to show us a sloth facing us. Totally recommend booking a tour because she showed us all the animals that we wouldn’t have seen on our own. She also gave detailed information about the plants and history. You can really tell she loves her job and she made us feel really comfortable as well. We would totally do the tour with her again!

Our group of four adults thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Esteban. We definitely saw some interesting creatures and appreciated learning about them as well as learning about Costa Rica history.

Easy park to get around and had a great experience with Aldo, our guide. Monkeys actively pose for photos and were lucky to see a couple of sloth resting in the trees, thro Aldo’s telescope of course. Iguana everywhere and Aldo pointed out some birds we would never have seen otherwise. Manuel Antonio beach is pristine, thanks in part to the no food or smoking policy. Decent pulled pork ciabatta in cafeteria too.

The National Park Manuel Antonio was one of the most impressive activities we did in Costa Rica! Thanks to our guide Diego we saw a lot of different animals! We come back!

Frank was our tour guide for the day, and it was incredible. Definitely go to the morning tour and bring a change of swimsuits so you can enjoy the park all day! Our guide brought a scope and a camera attachment so he could share all the incredible photos with us at the end. He was super knowledgeable and spotted so many things that we would have walked by. Would do this tour every day!

What a thrilling experience it was to visit this stunningly beautiful park full of amazing animals, sounds, birds, beaches, and vistas! Beatriz was an excellent guide-full of stories, good humor, and knowledge. Saw so many animals I would not have seen and what Beatriz and the rest of the guides can do with a scope and their phones. Checho aka Josue made this trip totally worth it. Park crowded and hot, yes, but it’s a large national park and a highly visited part of Costa Rica; What do you expect? We took the 730a tour (totally worth the early morning trek to avoid heat) Checho Takes you away from the crowds, spots animals, calls the birds and is the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever experienced (he has 34 years doing it), has a great heart, incredible person and explains history very thoroughly, all while being very funny!! He also will give you recommendations for restaurants side of the tourist area if you’re up for it

Book the early morning trip. Hope you get Checho. And don’t bring plastic water bottles, not allowed.

Frank was such a great and funny guide. Without him, we probably wouldn’t have seen most of the animals. We saw two- and three-finger sloths, monkeys, tucan and many other animals and insects. The tour ended at the beautiful beach where we spent time on our own and relax. We highly recommend this tour!

Christian was our tour guide for the morning. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. If we tried to walk the park on our own we would have missed so much!

Our guide Josue Checho was very experienced guide who showed us the rarest bird called ghost bird, monkeys, sloths, crabs and many other animals. He was extremely knowledgeable and we would highly recommend him and the tour. Thank you 😊 Pura Vida!

We are so glad we did this with our guide, Diego! He was so knowledgeable and knew exactly where to look for all the animals and birds!

We saw Sloths, monkeys, snakes, nocturnal birds that were resting near the ground, toucans!

The telescope they carry helped us look at animals and birds upclose. Also able to take pictures and videos through the telescope.

The end of the trail at the beach is simply breathtaking!

We would have missed most of these animals had we done this on our own.

We probably had the best guided tour EVER in our life with Beatriz!!! She is not only extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about wildlife and biology in general. She also understood to pass her knowledge with so much passion and joy to all of us that the 3 hours just flew by. Above all, we went on this tour with our 7 old months baby who loved the tour too! She entertained him with different animal sounds, so we could enjoy the tour even more 🙂 Breaks for breastfeeding were always possible too!

At the end we got photos of all the animals we saw (Sloth with her baby, titi monkeys, stick bird, viper, howler monkeys, crabs, iguana, cappucin monkeys, king vulture…. deers… so many more).

We are so delighted that we did a tour, and our guide Christopher was excellent. He spotted things which we would never have seen and happily took photos on our phones through his scope.

Beatriz was an excellent guide—very knowledgeable and great at finding the wildlife. I would highly recommend this tour. Be aware though that there is a lot of waking involved and it can be very humid in the jungle. If you go, wear comfortable shoes and bring lots of water.

I must say, our Tour guide, Beatriz, was amazing during our tour. She was extremly knowledgeable about the wildlife and determined to seek them out. I even asked about the potable water offered along the trails and she was prepared with a very thorough and complete answer. Yes, the water is safe to drink. I hope others get to travel to beautiful Costa Rica and enjoy this great adventure. “PURA VIDA”

Esteban was our amazing tour guide!! He was awesome and knowledgeable and we saw lots of different animals and got a lot of pics. The beach at the end of the tour was beautiful and we all loved it! The only sad part was that we booked a 12pm tour and only had about 45min at the amazing beach following the tour/hike as the beach closes at 3pm. Other than that, highly recommend Esteban and this tour/hike!!!

The Park is great and we enjoyed the tour with Kevin a lot. We saw monos titi with babies, a tucan, a snake and many other birds. Our 8-year old son enjoyed the tour as well. Kevin is a great guide and really showed us a lot and he gave us a lot interesting information about the ecosystem. The beach is fantastic!

I don’t know how you tour the park without a guide, we never would have seen the animals we did if we went without one. The beach at the end is beautiful as well, my boys loved it

Had a great guided experience with Kevin, he was very knowledgeable about the animals and spoke very good English. He let the kids take photos with their camera through his lens and also sent all his photos at the end of the trip.

Loved the tour, our guide Beatriz made it into a real experience showing us so many very well camouflaged animals and giving us a lot of info about biology, evolution, geology etc.

We took the tour this morning. Our guide, Beatriz, was ebullient and knowledgeable about the history, animals and ecosystem of the park. We took the 7:30 tour which finished about 11am. We saw sloths with their babies, monkeys, toucans, crabs, lizards, and snakes. We ended by relaxing at the beach for 3 hours after the tour. I highly recommend.

We had a great time spotting sloths, birds, insects, and crabs with our guide Diego. We would not have seen nearly as much without his help. The park is gorgeous and the beaches at the end of the trail were fantastic. Just wish we could have brought food into the park because we were hungry and the lineup at the cafeteria was huge.

Diego was an amazing guide! We saw beautiful birds as well as a sloth, monkeys, and other amazing plants and insects. Overall an amazing experience!

We were so lucky to have Beatriz as our guide on this tour. Beatriz was so knowledgeable. As we went, she went so much deeper with every species than I’d expect. She’s a biologist and obviously a life long learner, imparting knowledge from recent studies she had read. I was impressed not only with her knowledge, but how easily she was able to impart it in a second language. This woman is so intelligent. Besides that though, she was enthusiastic, friendly, and engaged. We also spent a second day in the park unguided and I would also recommend that, but only if you have more than one day.

I was awed by the biodiversity at Manuel Antonio! Our tour, Bea, was a true naturalist – a quick eyed professor of all the aspects of the park. Her stories were prescient and insightful. She was great with our students! Couldn’t have asked for a more enthusiastic and brilliant guide!

Our guide Beatriz loves Costa Rica, loves her heritage, loves the natural habitat of Manuel Antonio, and shared it all with us in such a soulful manner. Great tour!!

We booked the tour simply because there was no more availability to reserve a time slot to enter the park but it turned out to be absolutely worth it. Entry was a breeze, we saw so many animals and got tons of interesting information to go along with it. Beatriz, our guide was fun, knowledgeable, engaging with adults and kids alike and the photos that she took during the tour and she shared with us at the end will definitely make the picture book. If I could do it over again, I’d book the early morning tour for multiple reasons – to avoid the heat and maybe see even more animals, and to have more time after the tour to spend in the park. The tour ended at the beach, where we could have easily hung out for much longer, but as the park closes at 4, we only got about 45 min before the park staff asked us to get out of the water and make our way to the entrance. Our group was fairly small with only 2 parties grouped together and because it was a mixed group of a Spanish speaking and English speaking family it made it a bit harder for our guide to always deliver all her knowledge in both languages, simply because she had so much to share 😉 I’d for sure recommend it.

The tour was awesome and very informative. There was no shortage of things to see. We saw sloths and moneys and even a crocodile.

I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone, our guide Beatriz was amazing and would provide super cool information about the wildlife whilst also taking photos to give to us after the tour. We saw some really cool wildlife on this tour!

Our tour with Checho was fantastic! He’s been giving park tours in Manuel Antonio National Park for decades. His expertise and comprehensive knowledge of every nook and cranny of the park is unbelievable. If there is an animal nearby, Checho will find it. He was great with giving each member of our group plenty of time to see the animals. Also, his vast knowledge of the park, sustainability efforts, and everything else was phenomenal. It was a great time with our tour guide!

We came to Manuel Antonio with the goal of seeing sloths and were not disappointed. Diego was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and did his best to separate us from large noisy groups. We saw 5 sloths, a snake, bats, toucan, and more with Diego. After the tour was over we returned to the spot of a juvenile sloth and saw it eating and moving! Overall great experience!

We cannot thank Dagoberto enough for his assistance with arranging our tour. Karen was our wonderful guide and she showed us many animals that we probably would have just walked right by if she hadn’t spotted them for us. We saw sloths that were nearly invisible in the trees, as well as other birds, animals and insects. Costa Rica has done a great job preserving this park and it’s a wonderful way to spend a day while in the area.

Diego did a fantastic job and was very knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife. Diego made sure everyone had a chance to view the wildlife before we moved on so everyone in our small group was satisfied! Mucho Gracias, Diego!!

This was the best experience of our stay in this area of Costa Rica! We saw so much amazing wildlife and Beatriz is a fountain of knowledge about the park and the creatures who dwell here. Truly wonderful!

This was one of the best days I had in Costa Rica so far! A huge thank you goes out to Beatriz (aka Queen B).

Before I review this Guided Tour I wanna share all assumptions I had before:

1) Manuel Antonio park is so overcrowded and it isn’t a great experience.

2) I don’t need a Tour Guide.

I must admit I only booked a guided tour because there was no more single tickets for the early morning available. With a guide it was. And I am very very happy about this situation because I wouldn’t have experienced what I just experienced today. I love wild life. And I had tears in my eyes because I have seen so many beautiful animals today.

Everything was very well organised. I received an email before the big day with the name of my guide and a photo. Wow! I love that customer friendly approach.

Everything was on time, and the tour took much longer than I expected. My guide works in the park for 7 years and she was excited about telling us about the animals as she just started working there yesterday.

Beatriz took amazing pictures via phone and telescope. All photos were shared after! It has National Geographic quality! I swear.

Today I made memories I will never forget! Thank you Beatrix! You are a rockstar.

I felt so lucky to be one in a group of 4 people with Bea. She took extra time and was so very knowledgeable and does she have a great eye. I have no idea how she saw the animals she did. I would have missed all but 3 or 4 out of… I don’t even know how many.

I was so impressed by Beatriz’s knowledge of the park, the wildlife and the environment, and her enthusiasm for conservation. She was expert at spotting the wildlife and without her we would have missed seeing so many things (like the sloth Mum and baby in the photo). It was great having her telescope for close up views. I recommend Beatriz as a guide.

I really enjoyed today´s guided nature tour with Andrés. He is an amazing guide, I would have never been able to spot all the animals without him. He is such an enthusiastic, funny, professional guide. He is doing such a great job!

The only remark for the park organization: add a staff member for the payment at the restaurant area, one staff is not enough, visitors are arriving all tired and have to queue for quite long at the checkout counter. Thank you

My school group and I had a phenomenal tour with Beatriz. Her knowledge of the park was impeccable- and she had an amazing eye. We couldn’t walk 10 feet without spotting something incredible! I’ve never met anyone that could so effortlessly discuss the biology, etymology, evolutionary history, and social and cultural interpretations of animals. I enjoyed every second of her teachings! Excellent tour around this beautiful park during a busy time.

Rolo was patient with the group and clear with all information; i had no idea how he was able yo spot the wildlife so well; we saw sloths, a toucan, bats, giant grasshoppers and iguanas to name some.

My student group had Beatriz as our guide – she was amazing!! Not only was she knowledgeable but she was incredibly engaged with us and answered all of our nerdy college kid questions! She was extremely nice and everything she found in nature we would have never been able to find by ourselves. She made our whole trip so much more engaging and amazing!

My group’s tour was guided by Beatriz and she was truly so wonderful. She knew SO much about the local flora and fauna and shared with impressive detail, managed to spot even the tiniest of creatures for us to see, and was overall just a delight. I would recommend a tour with her to anyone coming to visit Manuel Antonio.

Manuel Antonio Park is spectacular! The jungle board walk was beautiful. My kids and I saw three toed and two toed sloths, howler monkeys, land crabs, orb weaver spiders, white tailed deer, various iguanas, tropical birds, and bright green snakes! it was so much fun. Our guide, Biatriz, was so fantastic! She was funny, patient, knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend her. We wouldn’t have seen nearly as many animals without her help! The white sand beach was incredible, the ocean was amazing! This is a park I’ve always wanted to go to and it didn’t disappoint.

Beatriz gave us the best experience at the park! She was very knowledgeable and had answers for all of our questions. She’s very good at spotting wildlife, but also listening and mimicking calls to locate things. For explaining other things that we didn’t get the chance to see, she showed us pictures. She also took incredible pictures of everything we saw and shared them with everyone. When our time was up, she didn’t stop the tour, instead kept answering all of my questions. She also gave us local advice about other activities in the area.

Our guide, Dayana was amazing! She was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. We saw all types of beautiful things but the highlight for me was seeing a sloth’s face! That’s was I was really hoping to see and Dayana was able to find one! Her telescope was very good quality and we got some beautiful photos. Thank you Dayana!

We loved the beautiful Manuel Antonio park! We could never have spotted so much without our guide, Andres! He was wonderful, skilled, and informative with so much knowledge of the various species we saw in the park. He shared his photos taken through the lens at the end of the tour which was greatly appreciated!!!!

I can see why Manuel Antonio park is the most visited park in Costa Rica – it is pleasant, organized, clean, and all-age friendly. Plus, our tour guide was Beatriz, who was very knowledgeable, and she made the park experience really standout. We saw many animals, including a mama and baby sloths. (Thank you Beatriz!!!)

We saw so many wonderful animals including monkeys, sloths, toucans, and hummingbirds. Our tour guide, Andres, was wonderful. So knowledgeable and kind. Pick up transportation from our hotel was helpful.

We had a great time at Manuel Antonio National Park. Our guide, Esteban, was very knowledgeable and was able to spot so many fantastic animals and birds to show us. He was great for positioning his telescopic lens for us to get a better view and even took photos through the lens on our phones for us. We saw a toucan, sloths, howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, forest crabs, deer, bats and various other birds and insects. We had a great time and the park is beautiful.

Our guide Andres was so knowledgeable and passionate about his work and the environment making sure we got as much information about the fauna as possible. He was amazing at finding the birds, reptiles, monkeys, deer, coatis etc and pointing his camera at each so that we could all see, close up , these amazing creatures. It made our tour so very interesting and time went so fast. His interest went so far as participating in research with University biologists. Our small group was lucky to have him as our guide. No one should experience MA Park without a guide as they are so good at spotting the animals.

The guided tour is a must, we wouldn’t have been abel to see much with out Andres y Beatriz, our guides. They weren’t awsome, very well prepared. Beatriz is a Biologist, so you can imagen 🙂. Get there early so you can enjoy enough time at the beach.

Thanks to Esteban, we have seen many animals, could have great pictures and a great time! In a group of 6 people, we have walked through the main trail to the beach and Esteban gave us very interesting information all the way through. He is very kind and available to answer your questions. Don’t hesitate to go for a tour with him!

We were so so happy we chose to do a guided tour of the park. We thought the guide might not help that much but we were very wrong! Their knowledge was so expansive and they also carry a scope to help you see the animals so it helped us see sloths, monkeys, iguanas, bats, etc. Our guide also helped us stay away from the crowds which was very nice because we were a large group already. Checho was the very first guide of Manuel Antonio park and was a mentor to many other guides so knew everything there was to know (and was very funny) so we were very happy with our experience. Highly recommend!

We had a small group tour with Andres. We were really impressed by his knowledge of the park and various ecosystems throughout the country, as well as his enthusiasm for his work. Not only did he go out of his way to seek out various animals, but he shared his findings with other tour groups near us that missed what we were seeing. At the conclusion of the tour he shared some amazing photos with us that we were thrilled to share with friends and family.

Our tour guide was Diego, it was a delight to meet him. Diego was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna in the park. Trip highlight was seeing several sloths.

Beatriz was very knowledgeable, engaging and fun. It was helpful that she was able to capture photos and videos and share we us. Always amazed how they find and see animals that blend in so much with the vegetation.

Dagoberto was a terrific guide! He was so enthusiastic about teaching about the wildlife and ecosystems of the park and Costa Rica. We were glad we drove our own car, so we could stay several hours to enjoy the beautiful jungle-rimmed beach cove. Paradise found!

Christopher was our guide and thanks to him we spotted a lot of animals. We spotted at least 4-5 sloths that we would not have seen if we had done the tour by ourselves. I really recommend booking with the guide, as Manuel Antonio Park is mainly worth it for the wildlife

Absolutely recommend booking a guided tour (request Beatriz!). She was an amazing guide and told so many funny stories and interesting facts about the animals. We saw so many things we would not have seen without a guide. Beatriz also took photos through the scope and sent them to us afterwards so we did not waste anytime with every member of the group getting a photo through the scope, this was a great idea! We saw three types of monkeys, sloths, agouti, snakes, frogs, birds, and insects! A highlight of our Costa Rica trip 🙂

if we had gone without a guide we would have missed nearly everything. We went on the 7:30am tour and saw three types of monkeys, crabs, butterflies, sloths, the rarely seen stick bird, spiders, lizards, bats, and learned so much about the Manuel Antonio ecosystem and biodiversity! I highly, highly recommend taking this tour.

Our enthusiastic and experienced guide, Dagoberto, showed us many mammels, lizards, insects, birds, and plants during our tour. Manuel Antonio National Park is deservedly popular (and crowded), but thanks to Dagoberto, we still managed to see a lot, and he also shared plenty of information about the ecosystem. We ended up going into the park again, later in our stay in Manuel Antonio, and had a second very enjoyable day there on our own.
